We use UHF radios in the band of 430MHz to 470MHz. You are more than welcome to either source your own radio or buy one from the CPF. Should you decide to source your own radio we would need to charge a fee of R200 per radio for the ICASA license and programming. For security reasons we can not give you our frequency to program yourself or to have someone else program it for you. It may also take a few weeks for us to obtain the required programming kit for your model of radio.
We also require the following minimal functionality, please ensure the radio can perform these tasks before you buy it:
BCLO (Busy Channel Lock Out)
New Radios (Price includes License for the first year and Programming)
License fee per year is R200, but for the first year it is included
